At Aquaware, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our services.
2. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: Email, first name, and last name (collected during account creation).
- Authentication Data: Google OAuth token for secure login via Firebase Authentication.
- Water Data: Water parameters (e.g. pH, temperature, TDS, EC, DO, ORP) including timestamps.
- Device and Connectivity Info: SSID and Wi-Fi status for sensor hardware connection.
- Subscription and Usage Data: API key, active subscription tier, upload intervals.
- Cookies: Session tokens for login persistence. Cookies do not store sensitive data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To manage your user account and ensure secure access via hashed passwords and OAuth.
- To record, store and analyze water quality data through our platform.
- To manage subscriptions and provide billing via Stripe Checkout (external).
- To notify users about changes or important service updates via email.
4. Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication: Used for secure Google login. Only basic profile and email are accessed.
- Stripe: Used for subscription payments via hosted checkout pages. We do not store card details.
5. Data Storage and Retention
Your personal data is stored securely in our backend (PostgreSQL, hosted on European Railway servers). Data is retained as long as your account remains active.
Upon account deletion, your personal information is deleted and all water data is anonymized and disassociated from your account.

6. Data Security
We use TLS encryption, hashed passwords, and scoped API keys. Only authorized staff can access user data. Our system complies with GDPR requirements.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately.
8. Your Rights
- Request access, correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data under certain conditions.
- Submit a complaint to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as needed to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Material updates will be communicated via email or through the app interface.
